Music Monday ;

I've been in love with this song for a while. It speaks to me heavy, everybody
needs to really stop always worrying and just live life to the max. Thats what
I'm going to incorporate in my life. By the way, I just got this MacBook Pro
which I absolutely love. I haven't figured out everything but I will eventually.
Enjoy the song!

2010 Summer Necessities

Here are some items I want need to get for this summer. I've got some graduation money that I can spend on it. I'm saving most of it but keeping some for me to use. Then I have to wait for my paycheck from my job to get more stuff. Sadly, the job that I have does not start till late June. Till the then I'm looking for a part time job, Hopefully some one will call me back soon -_-. Any ways, here are the top things on my list.
I really NEED this camera. I don't think I have shared that I'm trying to get into Videography and all that good stuff. I'm not really into labels. I just know I want to do amazing things by capturing moments in video form, or photographs.

Bape Earrings.

The Sperry Top-Sider Authentic Original.

I have to get these at any cost. This shoe is too sweet not to have.

This is not the exact deck I want but its the only good picture I could find to show. I need an entirely brand new skateboard. My old one is dead.

Sorry for the awkward white lady with the cut off face. I couldn't find a picture without her in it.I'm in LOVE with this blazer. I saw it in the store one day and knew I had to go back and get it. & thats what I shall do.

Excuse My Opinion.

So lately I've been thinking about rappers, we all know and have our opinions about whose the best or next big male rapper, but rarely is the female rapper mentioned. As I look in the past it clearly has not been as many female rappers as males. We all know the most famous female rapper that has everybody going crazy now. Yes, Nicki Minaj.

Now for me, I am not a fan, I am not on this BARBIE train. Sorry, that's not for me. I do not hate her, I just think she is over rated, and hyped up to the highest level. Simply because she is really the only mainstream female rapper on the scene right now. I know most of you girls are going to disagree with me, so be it. If you really listen to her lyrics they are mediocre. Not saying she is the worst rapper of all, just not all that she is held up to be. This whole trend she is setting, to me, its a nightmare. It would not be that bad if all of these females wouldn't have bandwagon on it. For me, my favorite female rappers are Eve, Da Brat, and Missy Ellitot.
To me that is real music and the artists that are great. They stay true to themselves, and put music that is diverse in topics. With Nicki Minaj honestly every verse has some non needed sexual content, seriously, does that have to be in every song?  To me I get tired of that. I just wonder how long this whole thing is going to last.

On to the next stage

Let me start of and say sorry for the lack of posts. I've been very busy for the last few days. I graduated on Saturday! Which I am so very happy about. Finally out, now I'm no longer bothered with the same routine of high-school, and the tedious homework. I had a graduation cook out afterwards to celebrate. Now, I'm looking for some early summer tasks & quests. Hopefully my blog will be transform into some more major and the layout appearance will be better. I also just got back from a job interview, I got the job but it does not start till late June. I'm still looking for a part time job too, I honestly need the money. There is a lot I'm trying to do and get before I go off to college. Well let me stop rambling about stuff. Heres a few picture from the weekend.

Stand Out

Hey world! I haven't posted anything in a while, sorry for the delay. I've been busy taken finals for school, but I just finish my last one yesterday. So now I'm officially done with high school, thank goodness! Tomorrow I leave for my senior trip to Florida. I really don't feel like going anymore but I have to, then when I get back, it's graduation =). Anyways, enough about that. This post is about standing out. This is for all you bloggers out there. For the last couple of days I've been "blog hopping" if you want to say, and let me tell you what I have seen. I've seen the same repeated layout, the same exact post, nothing worth looking at honestly. Most of them were the same, and there were some that was actually interesting. I've been looking/reading blogs for some time now and for me to actually enjoy that blog, it has to be different from every other blogs and has to be covering stuff that is actually enjoyable and interesting to sit down and read. Some of the blogs I came across had the same corny layout, and same post about fashion lines and music. I'm not saying that you can't have blogs like that but if you do, PLEASE make yours unique. If your going to post stuff about fashion please KNOW what your posting, don't just jump on the bandwagon. I honestly think half of those kids didn't even know what they were posting about, who the designer was, and nothing about the line. All the music was the same ol' mainstream songs or videos. Post something DIFFERENT. It doesn't have to be the latest Lil Wayne, Drake or whoever it maybe latest song that's out. Trust me there's going to be several other blogs with that already posted. I might be babbling, but I'm just trying to help bring diversity to blogging. It just seem like everybody stealing stuff from each other or hypebeast. If your going post those hypebeast pictures at least add some commentary to them. For the record I'm not trying to stop nobody from doing there blog just please add some excitement to it if you want to call it that. Like more personal post, stuff you like, something more than fashion, music, and art. Again, I'm not knocking talking about those subjects but do it in a way that it's not like everybody else. That's all I ask. Ok I'm done venting for now, lol.

Music Monday

One of my favorite new artist is Dom Kennedy. Representing for the Westcoast, L.A to be exact, and Leimert Park to be specific. To me, he brings something new to hip - hop, and I love his voice. He is going to be Major, he already put out 4 mixtapes. Don't sleep!
  • Future Street/Drug Sound
  • 25th Hour
  • Best After Bobby
  • From The Westside With Love
If you haven't already, go download them. Trust me you won't be disappointed with what you hear, all of them are a good definition of incredible music.

I absolutely love Dom Kennedy. I been hip to him for sometime now and he is one of the better new artist out. His music is real. His most recent mixtape "From the West side with Love" was the truth, if you haven't downloaded it yet get on that. Also this is my last official week of school so once that's over hopefully I will have daily, personal posts. Make Cupcakes Not War : Johnny Cupcakes

(I took this picture while waiting eternity to get in.)

I should of posted this a while back but I'll share it with you'll now. Early April Johnny Cupcakes came to Maryland for his Suitcase tour. I had the opportunity to go see him in Annapolis. I waited for 2 , 2 1/2 hours in line to get in. I'm happy to say, it was well worth it. Besides the awkward couple behind me and it being pretty windy and i didn't have a jacket -_-. But while we were waiting outside they did supply us with cupcakes and also had some inside. Overall the event was great. I had heard of him before a while back but never really looked into his brand until a couple of months ago. I read up on him and how he started his brand, which is great motivation for anybody who wants to start their own brand. What I really like about him is his down to earth attitude. For him to travel across the country and meet with his fans, talk, and take pictures says a lot about his character. More designers in my opinion should do that. He is suppose to be coming to Georgetown, DC this Friday ( May 7th) so hopefully I can make it and have a Pt 2 post on that. Enjoy the pictures.

that's when I finally made it inside.

I don't really care for this pic, on my part but I decided to post it anyways.

of course I had to come back with something.

Cop me a T-shirt, 3 stickers, and 4 pins. The other 3 are on my jacket and heaven knows I wasn't try to take them off cause it already took me long enough to put them on.

Greetings & Love

Hello world, this is the first post of my blog. I actually made this blog in the end of March but have not had a chance to post anything yet. First off, my name is DeVonne, I'm from the DMV, 17 years old, and I'm finishing up my last year in high school. I made this blog just to post things that are on my mind, and the everyday walks of my life. Hopefully I can stay faithful and post daily or frequently. This is not one of those "fashion" blogs or the dreadful, lets just copy what's on hypebeast blog, with no ORIGINALITY. I wanted to try something different, and just want to show the Life & Times of DeVonne. Something real and enjoyable to read.
